MOUAU Students Protest

Today being the 12th of May 2017, the Students living in the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Male Hostel of Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike popularly called "New Hostel" displayed great dissatisfaction to the scarcity and unavailability of water supply to their hostel. The Students were at the verge of displaying Violence when the Student Union Government (SUG) intervened and calmed the enraged students.

On critical evaluations, the Students' Union Government Jointly with the Dean and Deputy Dean of the Student Affairs Department and the Department of Works of the institution discovered that the issue was but an administrative fault which can be resolved amicably.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. F.O. Otunta through his team from the Department of Works responded rapidly to ensure that the issue of water can never be a problem again. He later made available Sumos and all necessary equipments needed to tackle this problem.

In the bid to solve the problem, The Students' Union Government provided tankers of water while a very concerned Chemistry Professor made available funds to also calm the situation.

The Student Affairs department also addressed the affected students and assured them of continuous response to their welfare issues  and apt representation as they went round to observe other problems of the students.

The Students' Union Government afterwards assured her students that their interest can never be neglected. They will continue to represent and defend their rights and privileges.
