BREAKING NEWS: IMSU ASUU Suspends On Going Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU IMSU CHAPTER has finally and officially suspended her industrial strike action today Wednesday 22, June 2016 which commenced on the 21st of March 2016. This was sequel to the state governor's efforts lately to fulfil his promises signed on the new memorandum of understanding between the State Government and the academic staff Union of Universities – ASUU Imsu Chapter.

During the congress which was organized by the leadership of Asuu today, her members voted unanimously for the suspension of the already lingered strike action. They further revealed that their struggle so far has been for the best interest of the students and for the effective management of the University.
According to Rotr Chukwunenye Maduabuchi Stanley aka Senator MAF, The Academic and non academic Staff of Imsu earlier received a satisfactory response to their request from the state government and therefore concluded to suspend the industrial strike action to enable the University resume with immediate effect.

Speaking to Students on campus who came around to confirm the said Congress, Rotr Chukwunenye Maduabuchi Stanley aka Senator MAF pleaded with them to avoid engaging with things that are geared towards bringing down the reputable standards of the Institution and always be supportive to her vision. He also lauded the efforts of the University management led by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Victoria Adaobi Obasi for working tirelessly hard to ensure that the strike does not linger more than it could be curtailed. He further advised his fellow Imo Stars to resume school immediately noting that the time has come for us to separate Paul from Barnabas and distinguish those who really have the zeal to return back to campus from those who have been praying for the continuity of the strike.
