Only 6 Students Out Of Over 13,218 Grandaunts’ Bags First Class During UNIABUJA 2017 Convocation Ceremony
The University Of Abuja graduated a total number of 13,218 students from
its regular and part time programmes at its 21st convocation ceremony held on
Saturday 25th February 2017.
Students who were found worthy in character and learning were conferred with first class degrees, postgraduate diplomas and higher degrees.
According to reports gathered by our correspondence in UNIABUJA, the institution graduated only 6 First Class, 644 Second Class Upper, 6187 Second Class Lower, 5830 Third Class, 44 pass alongside 74 postgraduate diploma, 413 Masters degree, and 64 PhD students.
The Emir of Kano, His Highness Muhammad Sanusi 11, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary and an active politician, Chief Micael Okibe Onoja were also conferred with a Doctorate degree honour, for their immense contribution to the development of education and economy of the nation.
The Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Michael Adikwu, who addressed the occasion said the Emir Sanusi contributed a lot to the growth of the University while he was serving as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), he added that the six buildings approved during his tenure are currently under construction within the University main campus.
